“Rural Initiatives Changing Communities Everyday”
Rural Initiatives Changing Communities Everyday, Inc. (RICCE)
RICCE, Inc is a locally owned and operated 501 (c)(3) non -profit, whose mission is to provide multi-faceted and integrated health services to members of our rural communities through advocacy, education and service. We are an approved provider of Supplemental Educational Services through the North Carolina Department of Instruction. For the Choice Program we will be providing tutoring services with curriculums completely coordinated with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. These standards provide each of the thirteen curriculum areas a set of competencies for every grade level that helps guide the work that we do.

RICCE, Inc. was established in 2006 by citizens of the Eastern North Carolina communities, with start-up support from Integrated Family Services, PLLC. RICCE, Inc. was developed as a non-profit organization committed to eliminating the health disparities of the residents of rural Eastern North Carolina. RICCE, Inc. is one of the few non-profit organizations focused on rural health in the country.

As an added benefit we also have an unique collaboration with the public sector, utilizing behavioral counselors from Integrated Family Services, PLLC to help in the tutoring process for The Choice Program. Qualified mental health professionals, who act as tutors, are familiar with behavioral problems and are able to appropriately deal with each child and any special needs they may have. This feature of our program allows children, who otherwise would be excluded from academic activities because of behavior management issues, to be redirected and included in such activities in a positive and productive manner. Along with educations tutoring, we can and will provide mentoring opportunities for children enrolled in The Choice PRogram as well as opportunities for the children to take part in health education and counseling that covers the areas of self-esteem, diversity, anger management and problem solving. These vital topics are covered by certified counselors and therapists from our staff. RICCE also provides consultation for grant writing.
